VIETRADE - Linking in the development process

For over a decade to form the Central Key Economic Zone, the socio-economic of each locality has gradually confirmed its strength and ability to link with other localities. It can be seen that the strengths of each locality are not the same but different with specific characteristics. Therefore, it is necessary to find out suitable mechanism and solutions to overcome the barriers of local psychology and administrative boundary. To do that, the managers are required to work with the spirit of a soldier on the front of socio-economic development.  Accordingly, the linking of provinces in the Central Key Economic Zone is clear and can be completely implemented. These are: the linking between Hue and Da Nang to train human resources including senior technical experts and skilled workers in order to provide for the Central Key Economic Zone and the whole country; the collaboration between Da Nang Port and Chan May Port to form a center of commercial processing and international trade for the nations in the Mekong sub-region and the Asia – Pacific. Da Nang and Hue have great potentials for construction and development of auxiliary industries for the Central and the whole country. Auxiliary industry has a special importance in creating added value for the industrial manufacturing sector, particularly with the large industrial parks in the Central Key Economic Zone and the whole country. Therefore, if the auxiliary industry is not built and developed, the industrial manufacturing industry will face many difficulties and slowly development. Hue – Da Nang and Quang Nam will form a large tourism and service region of the Central and the whole country on the basis of implementing heritage road with Hai van – Chan May – Lang Co – Bach Ma paradise. The linking and development process will lead to the formation of twin cities of Hue – Da Nang as the center of culture, science and technology for the whole Central Region – Western Highlands.




The cooperation and development mentioned above of Hue - Da Nang will bring the vitality and are the basis for the integrated economic and multi-sector areas, namely Chu Lai, Dung Quat, Nhon Hoi which play an important role in the development of largescale industry of the Central Key Economic Zone. The linking among Chu Lai, Dung Quat, Nhon Hoi will be formed based on the association of industrial clusters such as building material manufacturing,  mechanical engineering and machine building, shipbuilding, shipping, steel production, agro – forestry – fishery product processing. With the success and one step forward, Dung Quat can create links on petrochemical industry, building materials and steel production with Nghi Son, Vung Ang, Hon La. This link has appeared on many aspects such as brand, products, technique and market, etc. the link among industrial clusters will provide enterprises with much information and knowledge on production, technique, market leading to promotion of productivity increase and initiatives and non-stopped innovations. On its  development process, the Northeastern Cambodia, Northeaster Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, etc will need more oil, steel products, building materials, machinery, equipments, fertilizers form the Central Key Economic Zone. At the same time, the areas also need to export agro – forestry – fishery products, materials, mining and handicraft products through Chan May, Da Nang, Dung Quat, Quy Nhon, Nhon Hoi Sea Ports.


With especially important strategic geographical location, the Central Key Economic Zone has entered the period of their strong development. Formed in the field of marine economy, the Central Key Economic Zone is increasingly having major impact on the development of Central, Western Highlands and the whole country, becoming an important partner for the development of Mekong Sub-region and a strong marine economic axis of Vietnam.


Marine economy is a very large field covering many aspects such as trade exchange, economic and technical investment, the formation of large industrial zones, special economic zones, urban chains, seaport system, services system, tourism, technical infrastructure system, security and national defense system, marine and continental shelf work system, mining, petroleum, seafood exploitation and processing industry. The sea has impact on climate and crops of agriculture, forestry, etc and many other areas. The formation of marine economic sectors will lead to the development of science, technology, services, banking and finance, etc and lead to the great change in social life, etc.
