VIETRADE - The 15th Vietnam - China International Trade Fair will be held from 12th to 17th November 2015 at Kim Thanh Exhibition & Fair Center in the northern border province of Lao Cai.

The press conference was launched to introduce general information of the Fair on 8th September 2015 in Hanoi. Of which a new feature this year is the participation of exhibitors from Laos, Cambodia, Thailand…. in the Fair for the first time besides the annual joining of exhibitors from host countries.


Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE) and Lao Cai Trade Promotion Center in collaboration with the People’s Government of Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture and Hekou (Yunnan), Trade Offices in Honghe District will co-organize the 15th Vietnam - China International Trade Fair which is hosted by Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), Lao Cai and Yunnan Province.

In the framework of National Trade Promotion Program in 2015, the trade show is an annual event held alternately between Viet Nam's Lao Cai province and China's Yunnan province, under the agreement between the MOIT and the People’s Government of Yunnan.   


The show is expected to host about 1,000 booths for around 350 Vietnamese and 100 Chinese businesses as well as enterprises from several countries in the region. During the event, the leading export items of Vietnam and China, such as: agricultural products, sea foods, machineries & accessories, electronic equipment, handicrafts, wood and wood products… will be displayed and promoted, together with introduction of investment projects as well as tourism routes along Kunming - Lao Cai - Ha Noi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh economic corridor and other localities.


Among the series of trade promotion activities, the Conference on investment, trade and tourism promotion between Vietnam and China and the Talk on trade and economic cooperation between Lao Cai province (Vietnam) and Yunnan province (China) will be the remarkable event at the show. A special discount of 50% on rental fee and 100% on advertising cost will be offered to Vietnamese exhibitors joining the Fair.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr Do Kim Lang – Deputy Director of VIETRADE believed that the forthcoming event would be an effective platform for enterprises in both countries in order to share market information, seek potential partners and expand their markets, benefiting Viet Nam-China trade relations. Also, enterprises in Lao Cai province in particular and Vietnam enterprises in general participating in the show would have a chance to strengthen trade promotion activities in domestic market, promote the export of goods and service and take full advantages of key position in regional economic development via national and international border gate in Lao Cai.

In addition, the Fair is likely to create favorable conditions for foreign and local enterprises to expand their market, open its representative agents in Lao Cai and other northern mountainous provinces in order to seek investment & cooperation opportunities, develop trade and economic relation.


Deputy Director of the Lao Cai Department of Industry and Trade, Mr. Hoang Chi Hien highlighted province’s key position in regional economic development as it shares a 182-kilometre border with southwest China. The Lao Cai’s situation is one of the crucial gateway located in Kunming - Lao Cai - Ha Noi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh economic corridor, connecting Vietnam and ASEAN members with Yunnan and Southwest provinces of China in coopertation free-trade zone and the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS).


Ha Khau, international border gate in Lao Cai, is one of the largest gateway in the north of Vietnam, converged by railway, road, river and airline that is under construction. It is also the shortest and the most convenient way to connect Vietnam and ASEAN members with Yunnan and Southwest provinces of China.


In the press conference, Mr Ly Hung Con – Vice Chairman of the People’s Government of Ha Khau said that the Chinese organizing committee spread widely the general information of the Fair to Chinese enterprises and received the positive response from Chinese ones./.
