Thankfully, Vietnam enjoys numerous favorable conditions for vegetable and fruit production. Specifically, climate and soil are suitable for both tropical and subtropical vegetables and fruits and some temperate vegetables and fruits. Vietnamese vegetable and fruit production is marking significant progress in both scale and product range. Various kinds of special vegetables and fruits associated with high quality and high yield have been developed thanks to the sector’s applying advanced cultivation techniques. The Vietnamese vegetable and fruit sector is gaining wonderful achievements in domestic consumption and export. Domestic and overseas customers are noticing and creating demand for Vietnam’s plentiful processed products such as tinned and condensed fruits.


Fresh vegetables and fruits planted in Vietnam are diverse; visitors and expatriates in Vietnam notice the incredible array of such, particularly the many fruits they didn’t even know existed, and splendidly delicious finds they are. Having wet tropical, temperate and subtropical climates, Vietnam has many favorable conditions for fresh vegetable production all the year round. They span an enviable range of categories, including: leafy vegetables, fruitbearing vegetables, and root and tuberous vegetables. A diversified ecology cooperates; the species of fruit trees in Vietnam exceeds 30, with 27 of them having commercial value. Growing on a vast land area, they include: custard apples, oranges, mandarin oranges, pomelo, lemon, jackfruit, lychee, apples, apricots, plums, peaches, papaws, dragon fruit, grapes, avocado, star fruit, rambutan, mangosteen, sapodilla, guava, durian, limes, and pineapple.
