Vietnam Foodexpo 2017 - the ideal rendezvous for the food industry PDF Print

VIETRADE - The Vietnam International Food Industry Exhibition 2017 (Vietnam Foodexpo 2017) will be held at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), District 7, Ho Chi Minh City from 15th to 18th November 2017.




This year, Vietnam Foodexpo has a large scale with 600 booths and a total exhibition area up to 10,000 m2, organized in accordance with international standards. This event is presided by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and directly organized by the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency in coordination with relevant agencies within the framework of the National Trade Promotion Program, with the advice and technical assistance of European experienced experts.


The exhibition is a gathering place for Vietnamese enterprises from more than 30 provinces and cities across the country and a large number of enterprises from 15 countries and territories.


Many experts in the food industry have said that an easy and effective way to develop the local market and bring Vietnamese food abroad is to appear at Vietnam Foodexpo.


Though it is the third time this event has been organized, Vietnam Foodexpo 2017 has attracted a considerable number of large and small food brands in the country as well as from many countries with developed food industry to register for the booths. Vietnam Foodexpo has become a familiar exhibition brand with many visiting delegations of both domestic and foreign businessmen and food buyers.


One of the many reasons that make Vietnam Foodexpo always especially attractive is this exhibition is organized methodologically and professionally, and is the largest and most comprehensive show of the food industry of Vietnam - an emerging nation in the world for its abundant food supply.


Mr. Bui Huy Son, Director of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency, representative of the exhibition organizing board, said: "Enterprises can search for and easily identify the movement trend of the Vietnamese food industry at this big international event. The Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency has been carrying out a series of activities to attract and invite domestic distributors, and foreign food importers, wholesalers and retailers to come to the exhibition. Therefore, we are confident that with the quality and prestige that has been confirmed over the years, Vietnam Foodexpo 2017 will bring about more opportunities to display, introduce and exchange products, meet and connect business between Vietnamese enterprises and domestic and foreign partners in the food industry."


Vietnam Foodexpo 2017 will arrange exhibition areas according to groups of goods, including: vegetables (fresh, dried, canned, frozen); seafood (frozen, canned and processed); drinks (beer, beverages); tea and coffee; food ingredients (rice, nuts, spices, additives, sauces...); processed foods (confectionery, milk, dairy products, canned foods, processed foods, functional foods); food processing technology and equipment.


Organized within the framework of the National Trade Promotion Program 2017, Vietnam Foodexpo 2017 offers many incentives regarding booth costs and effective communication support to enterprises joining in the exhibition. As a result, many small and medium enterprises of the domestic food industry will have the opportunity to conveniently participate in, take full advantage of this prestigious event to prove their creativity and supply capacity to numerous types of visitors. Businesses also have the opportunity to meet and cooperate with larger businesses, thus expanding the market for their products.

Thanks to the exhibition, we have also met many new partners, signed valuable contracts and developed new distribution channels beyond the domestic market. This year, our company has also booked two specially designed booths right from the first day the exhibition was open for registration," said Nguyen Phuong Linh, Director of Bonie Bee Co., Ltd.


According to the exhibition program, there are expected to be a range of trade promotion activities on the sidelines of the exhibition such as the International Conference on Vietnam Food Industry (Food Vietnam 2017), the Saigon International Cooking Contest 2017, specialized business match-making programs, the signing ceremony of business contracts, culinary shows, the Vietnam Foodexpo 2016 Impression Awards, on-site export consultancy, introduction of updated materials about the orientation of trade and investment development, especially in the field of food industry…


Organized at the same time and location with Vietnam Foodexpo 2017 is the Vietnam International Food Technology Exhibition 2017 (Vietnam Foodtech 2017). Vietnam Foodtech 2017 will introduce modern technology and machines in the country and abroad, serving deep production and processing of superior quality food products with high added value and at competitive prices, supporting export enterprises in sustainable development, particularly in the context of Vietnam’s economy integrating deeply into the global economy. Vietnam Foodtech 2017 will effectively assist Vietnam's food processing enterprises to approach the world’s competitive production industry and high-demanding food markets.


First organized in 2015, Vietnam Foodexpo has met the expectation of the exhibitors as well as those visiting, doing transactions at the exhibition, accompanied the ever-growing and sustainable development of the Vietnamese food industry.


In 2016, the exhibition attracted the participation of 402 enterprises with thousands of food brands from 16 countries, hundreds of correspondents of news agencies, newspapers and more than 10,000 domestic and foreign visitors.
